"As editor in chief for Touring & Tasting , I've participated in countless wine tours. I had the good fortune
of spending one afternoon on a tour with H. Bruce Smith and was very impressed with his knowledge and passion for wine.
The tour was well planned and very informative. Since then, I have reached out to Bruce several times for his insights
and perspective on wineries, wines, and wine country touring in general."

Why Dry Creek Valley AVA (American Viticultural Area)? Let's start with the sheer beauty of the Valley. This is the quintessence of wine country; grand views and a quiet bucolic feeling. Then there's the slow pace of farmland. You can still bike along the narrow roadside in peace. And of course, the wine! Experience world-class wines featuring Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and lovely Chardonnays. There are nearly 9,000 acres of vineyards, and over 70 wineries, the majority of which remain family-owned.
Wine Tours Plus! For my tours the focus is on the wine. The thrill is in finding GREAT WINES. All the fancy Chateau's mean little if the wine is just mediocre! My tours explore the hand-crafted small producers that have stood the test of time and continue to create spectacular examples of local varietals. You are likely to meet the wine maker when you are out with me.
Sure the wine is great, but we also have Olive Oil to taste or perhaps your group would like to learn to play Bocce Ball! My tours are flexible and I can accommodate your personal requests. I'm a wine tourist myself and I am always thinking outside the box.

Let me share my passion for wine with you and your group. My tours are both fun and educational. I am not simply your driver, I am your new wine friend that will introduce you to our local wine scene. I come with you into the winery to answer any questions you may have. We will visit small family wineries. You won't find these wines in the supermarket!
My tours are terroir (ter'wär) based. I believe that you can't really understand the wines of our area without getting out among the vines. Wine tasting downtown is all fine and well, but you can do that anywhere. Experience the wine your tasting as you look out over the very vines that produced it.
